Curaçao

Travelling exhibitions and activities

The Anne Frank House works in Curaçao to share Anne Frank’s story and to support education on the Second World War, antisemitism, prejudice, human rights, and democracy.

Across Curaçao and the Dutch Caribbean, we offer a variety of educational programs built around our traveling exhibitions. These interactive, mobile displays can be hosted in schools and public venues throughout the region, bringing engaging learning experiences directly to local communities. Local partner
A new permanent Anne Frank exhibition opened on 18 May 2025 at the renovated Jewish Museum Curaçao in Willemstad, next to the historic Mikvé Israel-Emanuel Synagogue. We are pleased to partner with the Jewish Museum on this project. Longing for freedom, The world of Anne Frank presents Anne’s life through large photos and texts, placing her personal story in the broader context of rising Nazism, the persecution of Jews, and World War II. The exhibition also explores themes such as identity and discrimination, featuring videos of young people from Curaçao sharing their own experiences.

History
Since 1996, the Anne Frank House has been active in the Dutch Caribbean through two exhibitions: Anne Frank – A History for Today and Reading & Writing with Anne Frank. These exhibitions have toured all six islands of the Dutch Caribbean—Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Saba, and Sint Eustatius—ensuring that Anne Frank’s story and its educational impact reach communities across the region.
